The Disclaimer
I talk about a lot of things, including hot topics and controverisal topics. A lot of these are sensitive issues for a lot of people, including me. When I am speaking passionately, it shows in my writing, and my phraseology may not necessarily make things as clear as I'd like.
I say what I want here. It's my journal. I paid for it, and I do not pay to be flamed for having opinions or feelings, even if they don't come into alignment with anyone else's. You don't like it, your option is to skip the post in question, not to give me shit about it. Giving me shit about it will get you userbanned or killfiled.
If I bash anyone, man, woman, whomever, be assured it is done situationally only, and not generally.
I can go from happy to depressed, manic to quiet. I don't believe in secrets because real friends don't care and enemies have nothing to use against you if you have no secrets.
So read anything in my journal AT YOUR OWN RISK and if you believe you can flame me for anything I say in my journal, I know where the BAN USER button is, and I am not afraid to use it.
In addition, I have several filter levels. They change frequently. Nobody starts off automatically in one of the friend filters...but as I get to know people and what they're into, what they care about, etc, they will get filtered if I see an occasion or reason to do so.
There is a much longer disclaimer and the reasons for its existence listed here.
How To Read Indigo's LiveJournal:
Each entry has a category type so you know what I'm talking about -- you can tell at a glance what I'm likely to be discussing so you can memory or ignore as suits.
Since bradfitz gave up to 50 icons for permanent users, often the icons I use will also help identify what type of post it is, so you can decide whether it's something you want to read or not.
Life Support: I will be talking about things that affect me in real life. My health, my activities, my hobbies, my time spent not online.
Cybernautical Mode: I will be doing something involving the web, or another LJ user, or a webcomic.
Bridge Maintenance: I'll be discussing my computer, my laptop, my car, or some other device that makes my life easier.
Game Mode: I'll be talking about games. Any and all games. Board games, video games, RPGs. I can go on at length about RPGs, especially in MU* format.
Art Mode: Frequently crossing over with game mode, this is where I post my drawings to LJ.
Mission Log: LJ posts about important events I'm involved in -- trips away from home, conventions, and the like.
Survey/Quiz Mode: Self-explanatory. The surveys and quizzes that pop up so frequently on LJ go here.
Hailing Frequencies: Frequently these are quick posts meant to get the attention of another LJ user when I have something to tell them of no especial importance, but of at least fun-to-know importance.
If I'm talking about A Movie this is my style scheme.
If I'm talking about A TV Show I may do this or talk about a A TV Show.
If I'm talking about a book, I won't italicize or bold at all.
If I'm talking about a song title, I probably will not italicize, but I may put quotes around the song title.
